I have signed up for 160, but may do 100 and cycle to start and back making a total for the day of 130 approx. I might fancy a sleep in on Sunday.

Going by the thread everyone was doing 160/200 so I didn't register in the end.... I'll be having a sleep in now myself :-)
Enjoy!

Great to see some many signed up for tomorrow. According to the organizers, 160 of the 300 spots have been taken by people doing the 200, which is pretty amazing.
Some quick pointers for the event, geared to the 200 but mostly applicable to the 160 too. I expect that everyone who has signed up is well used to doing long sportives, so won't go over that ground, rather here are some points regarding the MB specifically.
- Most of the climbing is in the 2nd half of the event, so don't overdo it early on. There are some early steep climbs through Dalkey, Killiney, etc. as well as some rolling roads heading south, so take it easy on those.
- Because of those early climbs, it's easy to get separated right from the start. Make arrangements before the off if possible if you want to group together.
- The 200 is a long route with lots of climbing, but it's very doable. Just keep a pace that you are comfortable with, don't stop for too long at the food stops and cover it section by section.
- The 200 is an audax, so you will have a card to be stamped at the food stops. And, very importantly, if you decide not to finish, including signing off back at the club house, then call the organizers and let them know.
The forecast is good, so don't forget the sun cream. See you in the morning!
Diarmuid.
