5th Dec - Leinster MTBing Day

A note via Jen Sheridan, about a Leinster Youth Cycling Mountain Biking Day on 5th December 2015:

Hi all,

It is planned to hold a mountain biking day on Saturday the 5th December from 10am to 1pm at Ballinastoe Woods, Co. Wicklow. The plan is to have two groups and they will be as follows:

Advanced Group

This is for riders who are experienced mountain bikers. We would deem experienced as anyone who has their own mountain bike and do mountain biking events on a regular basis. We will have a couple of experienced mountain bikers to look after this group.

Beginners Group

We will be arranging with Biking.ie a programme for beginners and inexperienced mountain bikers. This will involve rental of a mountain bike and tuition from their from their professional guides. They will kit everyone out with a bike and explain everything you need to know about the course. They will also accompany and supervise the group during the cycle. There will be a cost of €35 for this service. This price may be reduced if we get a large number of cyclists take up this offer. This is a good opportunity for beginners to try their hand at mountain biking with professional supervision.

There are a few others points to note:
•Could you let me know by the 21st November if you are planning on attending as we need to know numbers so we can arrange things accordingly. Could you also please indicate which group you are planning on taking part in?
•Please bring a packed lunch with you.
•We would encourage parents to take part also if they are present.
•If there are any parents that are experienced mountain bikers we would be grateful if you took part and helped out on the day.
