Race Training/Chaingangs? was created by Deena Blacking
Hi all,

I hope you're well. I'm new to Orwell and was wondering if there are any groups doing race training/chaingangs etc. on weekday mornings or anything like that?

Cheers,

Deena

Cool!
I was wondering if Phoenix Park might lend itself to the idea i.e. relatively traffic free and can create a 'loop'? I might go and investigate (on two wheels) later today..

Corkagh Park is open to the public when not booked by a club for an event. So usually its freely accessible through the week in the mornings and afternoons.

(The link to the bookings timetable, you only pay to book otherwise accessible for free)

I had been there the other day, it was good practice though occasionally you might have someone stray onto the track

I'm also new, not sure if any fast group rides are happening right now due to COVID but I'd be interested in something like that or what's mentioned above.

@Sean @Zoeb thanks

I tried out Phoenix Park. It doesn't really work because it's got too many undulations.

Corkagh seems like a good bet, although it's a bit of a shlep for me, so not sure I'd manage it during the week... but would be willing to give it a go. The Starsky CC A4 men's race yesterday provided the same sort of environment i.e. threshold on a big safe open road, so that's another option of sorts ;-)
