The plan is to do something similar this year. With the level of interest so far we will have a few groups at different speeds. The start is moved to Merrion Square this year so closer to the event I will post a meeting point and times.
Looking forward to seeing everyone for the GDBR

Our meeting place on the day will be just beside the side entrance to the car park for the Clayton Hotel ( Old Burlington Hotel ) on Burlington Road. We will split into groups for the 65 and 105 routes and different speeds. From there we can cycle to the start on Merrion Square together. Watch the forum for a meeting time closer to the event date.

The first wave starts at 8am from Merrion Square. My sense is that we would need to be there (at the start) at least 30 mins beforehand. This would mean leaving the Burlo at around 7:20am to head to Merrion Square.
What do you think?

I received my event pack in the post yesterday so if you went for that option hope yours has arrived. If not dont forget to collect yours before the big day.
I agree with Stef that we need to be at the start line for 7.30 so arrangements as follows:
Great Dublin BIke Ride
Date Sunday Sept 23rd
Meeting point - Burlington Road, side entrance to car park for Clayton Hotel
Meeting time 7.10 for a 7.15 departure to the start line.
We will split into one group for the 65 and white, yellow and fast yellow / orange groups for the 105
See you all on the big day.

I'd suspect there would a white group doing the 105km route as it is a nice flat course with less climbing (361m) than most summer sportives.

A good few people have been onto me directly about arranging a second meeting / start point for tomorrow. Therefore, there will be an option to start at The Point at 8am. All Orwell participants are welcome to join us there if it suits? For clarity, Eamonn will still be meeting at the side of the Burlo ('Clayton Hotel') at 7:10am.
Thanks
Stef
