Mile Failte 1200- good luck! was created by Dave Mc
There has been very little talk about it so you might have missed the fact that there's a 1200k Audax going on this weekend on the Southwest coast.
Representing the Orwell, Danny Moriarty, James O'Callaghan and Tony Walsh are all hoping to complete their first 1200s. Good luck to each of them, and I hope they have a fantastic and successful weekend.
As I doubt any of the guys will have time or energy to be posting updates to social media I'll try to keep a track of how they are doing in this thread.
Please feel free to post good luck messages or any updates you might see elsewhere.

Only seeing this thread now. Been a diet of cycle, sleep & eat the last few days. Thanks a lot for all the encouragement. The orwellians haven’t crossed paths too much but understand all still going strong and all completed or in progress on stages 5/6.

I have heard word that James and Tony have both completed the Mile Failte 1,200 but unfortunately Danny had to pull out after 1,050 kms with an ankle injury. A tough decision to make after getting so far!
Well done to the three lads on their amazing achievements. Each of them did about 900 more kilometers than I would have done!

Only seeing this thread now. Thanks for the support and good wishes. I finished at 11pm on Tuesday, way behind James. Danny pulled out after 1050K due to a niggling injury. He could have finished but as he was going on a family holiday the following day he wisely decided to keep in shape for that. Was a great experience, I felt like I had been in a boxing match after finishing!

Seeing this late too.......thanks for the thread and best wishes all ..... it was a fun and adventure filled test of stamina with great controls. Pity I had to bail but learned loads.
Delighted for James and Tony who cruised around. Hopefully event will run again in 4 years time and Orwell will have larger contingent (plenty doing maiden 300s and 400s in recent weeks)
