Leisure Summer Programme - Wed. 1st March

Denis, our Président, launched the programme with a minute’s silence in memory of our club mate Tonya McEvoy, RIP. Denis then gave us a history lesson of Leisure cycling in Orwell and its evolution from humble beginnings.

Our number one change is the introduction of Summer Saturday Club Spins beginning on the 1st April. These spins are dependent on sufficient leaders coming forward. We are particularly looking for leaders in the month of April.
In summary here are the Summer Programme Initiatives:

NEWS

Cycling Ireland has recruited a new Leisure officer for Leinster Dermot Anglin. Dermot attended the launch and shared his vision for leisure cycling in Leinster. Also those who ordered ID wrist bands from Cycling Ireland got the opportunity to collect their band on the night.
Warren Cray has designed a new secure online data base which will enable spin Leaders to access ICE (In Case of Emergency)contact details. This system will be tested with the new training groups.
At the end of the slick PowerPoint (prepared by subcommittee member Derek Handley presentation) those who attended got the opportunity to sign up for all the above initiatives on offer. The other committee members are: Dee Currid, Alan Gordon and Ken Moloney who all played their part in bringing these many new initiatives to the packed room in the Lansdowne Hotel.

Check out the forum for updates.
Cheer, Leonard
On behalf of the Leisure Subcommittee
