FROM MICHAEL
Fougeres control
A bit separated today, but we should regroup later. The heat and hills yesterday threw sleep plans out the window and we cycled later into the night to make up time. Had an hour and a half sleep with my head in the table at the control restaurant. Not so hot today thankfully but wind is taking its place and not in a good way. Replaced diet of baguettes over the last few days to pain au chocolates, for the sugar.

I HAD TECHNICAL PROBLEMS SO HERE IS THE FINAL UPDATE ON THE PBP
WED 19:35
UPDATE Again, this is only a snapshot of times – this is not real-time tracking - so some could be about to check into a control.
Mortagne-au-Perche is 120 kms to Paris
Michael Frain checked in after 73h:25mins
Villanes -la-Juhel is 201kms to Paris
Michael Hayden checked in after 69h:34mins:
Joe Wheatley checked in after 71:24mins
Alex Stapleton checked in after 71h:41mins
David Costello checked in after 72h:01mins
Fougeres is 290kms to Paris
Adam Conlan checked in after 66h:53min
Zoheb Khan checked in after 67h:31min
THURSDAY
Got this from Michael H during the night
Got in to Dreaux at 2am. Got a few hours’ sleep on the floor of the canteen until six thirty. On my way to Rambouillet now with a beautiful morning here.
Mike Hayden is home Epic ride in those conditions, that’s 2 Michales home.
Here is a super picture from the finish line, Michael, and family.
Some of you will recognise them as the family who provided support on The Orwell Sportive.
Picture 2
And Michael F. had a dare-devil finish, in the early hours of the morning.
"A spoke broke with 15km to go and wheel buckled so the final push was a bit more 'interesting' than expected "
And Michael says
"The heat was unrelenting"
Zoheb home with 50mins to spare - an amazing result as Zoheb, was The Good Samaritan, sacrificing time, and assisting Andrew after his fall.
Hard luck to Andrew and Adam who did not finish this time, Roll on 2027!
