Hi All
Interest in track racing is at an all-time high in Ireland and the message has certainly reached Orwell so we have a new team working to deliver coaching and racing opportunities for club members in 2022. Dmitri Griffin is looking after management and I’ll be coaching all our track riders this season.
There’s already been a lot of interest from members in track cycling, what’s involved, how can I get started etc. so we’ve organised an exclusive track taster session for Saturday 5th March between 2-4pm.
If you don’t have a track bike, don’t worry, we can provide you with one for the day. You will need to be accredited (which is basically a 2 hour training course in track riding) and the next accreditation session is on Saturday 19th Feb 2-4 pm.
The taster session on March 5th will be mainly skills based with a few training drills thrown in to give everyone an idea of track racing, and will be geared towards novices.
There won’t be any charge for the session as it’s arranged by the Club.
If you’ve any questions, feel free to ask.
You can register interest on this thread and let me know if you’re going to need a rental bike on the day. I’ll have further details closer to the day.
Hope to see you all there.

Please add me to your list of participants for the Track taster day. I will need to rent a bike for both the 19th and the 5th.
Do I need to register for the accreditation session on the 19th or will you do this?
Many Thanks,
Adam

Likewise, won't be able to make it tomorrow due to the weather. Not a hardy cyclist!
