I wanted to make you aware of proposals for an inert landfill site in Ballinclare Quarry on Deputies Pass. Details of the proposal are in the attached flyer. I use that road to cycle very often and I often see your members and indeed groups from other clubs using the road for training and events.
Among other things, the proposals would mean a HGV would be travelling from the Beehive to the Tap every 2 minutes, Monday to Friday and every 2nd Saturday for over a decade. Setting aside my concerns as a resident, the dangers this poses to cyclist, runners and people who use the stretch of road for recreational reasons is not to be underestimated.
I'd really appreciate it if you would consider forwarding on the information to other members and perhaps even posting to social media. All information provided is 100% accurate. Details of a public consultation meeting next week are in the flyer.
