Suggestions for Development of Ladies Section was created by Aideen Collard
Hi Everyone,
With the biggest female membership of any Cycling Club in Ireland and likely to exceed 50 female members this year, it is important that we continue developing the Ladies section of the Club to cater for all ages, abilities and interests.
Feel free to make any suggestions as to what you would like to see happen in 2010 e.g. for training spins, workshops, leisure cycling, an Orwell ladies Racing Team & League, etc. If there's anything you want changed now is your chance to make it so!
Thanks

Hi Aideen - I heard the Boot Inn league wasn't going ahead this year? Is that true?
Thanks :)
Thanks :)

Maybe it's called the peep-toe shoe Boot Inn now :-)

I think Aideen and Orla are afraid that they'll get themselves into trouble if they answer this one. The Boot Inn league is in some doubt this year (obviously, since it's not on the calender!) but it is still hoped that it will go ahead. The main issue as I understand it is the constant battle to get marshals for it, if that problem can be sorted it should go ahead.I heard the Boot Inn league wasn't going ahead this year? Is that true?

Aideen,
I'd love if the Boot Inn did go ahead, but I can understand the difficulties.
If there's anything I can help with please shout.
The other thing I'd be interested in would be a trip to the track in Manchester and in terms of talks I think one on nutrition would be interesting.
Thanks as always to yourself and Dave for all the help and time you give up. It's much appreciated.

I'd happily volunteer to marshal some night and I'm sure I can persuade a few of the other lads to do it, if you need me to.

I'd certainly be willing to do some marshalling if the Boot Inn goes ahead (or some other alternative league if it doesn't).

Yup, happy to marshal also. From what I have heard the Boot Inn was very popular so happy to help out.

The Boot Inn league will almost certainly not be going ahead this year, but we will be running an Orwell Ladies league in Sandyford instead. Nearly everything is in place for this new league, we're just getting the last few details in place before we start publicising it.
We will be looking for marshals soon enough, ideally we would want enough of the men to volunteer to help out so the women are free to race every night.

I'm looking into organising a Track weekend in the UK with the Track Commission and will let you know as soon as anything is arranged.I'd be interested in a trip to the track in Manchester and in terms of talks I think one on nutrition would be interesting.
