We are going to trial a return to real-world, outdoor racing. We've scheduled two evenings of racing in Corkagh Park on:
Thursday 23rd July
Thursday 30th July
Because of the COVID-19 situation, things will have to be done a little differently than before. If you want to race, it is very important that you read these guidelines and adhere to them on the night. If people don't stick to the rules, we won't be won't be able to organise any more races this year.
1. Races are open to anyone who has entered to the 2020 club league.
2. Before participating you must complete the Sport Ireland Covid19 eLearning Course
3. Prior to participating in every race, you must complete the Self-Assessment Personal Screening Questionnaire .
4. Pre-registration only. We'll create a registration thread for each race in the Race Registration sub-forum. Sign on closes at midnight on the day of the race (this is to allow organiser time to upload participant names into Cycling Ireland's system). No sign-on on the night.
5. Social distancing is to be maintained. Please maintain a 2m distance between each other before and after the race.
6. Only race participants and the race organisers are permitted on the track during the event. No spectators or people waiting around for their race to start.
7. Please arrive at your designated start time only. If you're early, don't enter track until the participants of the previous race have left the track.
8. Failure to adhere to these rules or any instruction from the race organiser will result in suspension from the league.
This is as new to us as it us to you, so these rules are a work in progress and may be updated. If you plan on racing, please subscribe to this threat to receive any updates.

We're still working on creating the league sheet. For handicap groups, you can expect to start in the same group you finished last year. Newcomers will usually be put in the Limit group unless they've raced before.

- Previous participants have been put in the groups they finished last year.
- Newcomers have been put in the Limit group.
- Anyone returning after a year or more absence has been put in the group they last raced in, unless I didn't recognise their name, in which case they probably ended up in Limit. Let me know if that's the case.
- Underage riders are given free entry to the league. I've listed any underage riders who did at least one race last year, but if there's any underage riders who'd like to be added, let me know. Note that U14 and younger riders are limited to participating in time trials and Corkagh Park races. Additionally, we the club would prefer if U16 or younger riders were accompanied to races by at least one parent.

Hi Dick,

Thanks,

We're going to see how the races go in Corkagh Park and decide how to proceed. Road races will be the most challenging thing to organise though.

Tonight's start list is below.
If you don't know the course, here's the Strava segment.
www.strava.com/segments/646128
it starts just after the cross roads in Glencullen village and runs for a little under 5km, finishing at the top of the drag.
Remember, please don't congregate near the start line. Warm-up elsewhere and only arrive close to your start time. We'll have no holder, so you'll have to clip in at your start time.
