Craig Arrigan continued his fine form in open youth racing at Under-14 level this season when he took overall honours in the two-day Ras na Nóg races promoted by Drogheda Wheelers. Craig won the first two road stages, and wore the yellow jersey with pride safely in the group that sprinted in to decide Sunday afternoon's stage. Darragh Long finished fourth overall in the Under-14 category.

 

Michelle Geoghegan's rich seam of form continued in Balbriggan CC's weekend festival where the Dublin based Kerrywoman collected top prizes in Saturday's Harry Reynolds Memorial and Sunday's Jazzer Wherity Memorial.
The four club riders in the Dublin Orwell Dundrum Town Centre team in this year's FBD Rás all made it safely to the finish line in Skerries on Sunday afternoon after eight arduous days in the saddle battling frequently inclement weather, the merciless pace set by the top class international riders and the challenging parcours designed by race director Dermot Dignam.

Orwell Wheeler Enda Smyth set a new Irish record of 1:15.025 in the 1km Time Trial competing in the CP4 category of the Paralympic International Grand Prix of Wales in Newport last weekend.

Stephen McNally travelled west in search of race action on Sunday and came away with second place and the King of the Hills title in the Gogarty Cup in Letterfrack.

In the Combined Race on the Lakeside Wheelers promotion, Eddie Lynch produced another trademark sprint to finish third in a bunch gallop, afterwards ruing a mistimed final jump but otherwise delighted with another strong result in a vintage season for the star vet.

Stephen McNally's stunning 2009 season continued apace in the Phoenix Park Grand Prix on Tuesday evening as the Dunboyne based vet turned 10 laps of the Khyber Pass into a personal vendetta against the undulating ribbon of tarmac stretching out across four verdant kilometres of Dublin parkland.
Mark Dunne shrugged off the sleepless nights of new parenthood to record a fine fifth place in the Frank O'Rourke Memorial in Wexford last Sunday. Dunne was third in an eight man group sprinting for third place behind race winner Martin Gill of the promoting club, Wexford Wheelers.
Gary McNulty's impressive comeback continued apace in stage two of the Stagg 3-Day Batterstown on Tuesday evening as he sprinted in for a fine second place with Orwell clubmate Eddie Lynch close behind.
With a renowned finishing kick and good form to boot, Paul Healion was always one of the favourites for the National Criterium Championships in Dundrum last night but the South Dublin CC rider impressed the large and enthusiastic crowd by the emphatic manner of his success.
